I’m not sure if this is a new trick I’ve become aware of, but some of my favorite things to write about are things that are so easy that you can do them on your own.
A lot of the time I’m writing about something that I think is very important, like the way an artist uses color to tell a story, or the way a scientist looks at a problem. But I also get to write about things that are just so darn easy to do, you can do it on your own.
Im just a regular writer, but I always try to do things that are very easy or very obvious. I’m always looking for interesting things to write about, and if I find them, I’ll often do it on my own. Sometimes it’s simply because I’m too lazy to do the work, or I’m still learning the craft.
I remember when I first started out I was writing about things that I could see myself doing. It was the early days of blogging, so I had a few friends that I told all about what I was doing. It was a real time of discovery, when I realized that the internet was full of everything I wanted to know, all in one place.
I don’t know if you know this but the internet is full of everything you want to know. Whether it be politics, music, science, literature, etc. All of it. That is why it is the most dangerous space that we can exist in. We can just sit there and look at information and expect people to just give us what we want to see and trust us enough to give us credit. That is not always the case though.
The internet is full of information. But not all of it is useful. Some of it is just filler, like a list of websites that you might want to see. But then there are other types of information that just plain need to be read. Some of it is actually very interesting, and I mean that in the right way. But not all of it is.
It’s interesting to me how much information that’s being posted about the internet right now is actually useful. There are probably thousands of websites out there, and only a few of them are worth your time. But I bet you’d agree that some of the ones worth your time are very different from the ones that are just filler. The ones that are just filler are the ones where you see links or images and just have to click on them to see what they mean.
It seems like so many websites are still just a glorified place to see what people are up to, and what they think. You don’t even have to read the text, you just see images and click. So many of these internet communities are filled with just a few people that have no idea what the fuck they’re talking about. They just post links and images of memes.
In the last two years, I have seen more and more websites that are just a lot of lists of links and images, often with no purpose other than to fill the page with meaningless clutter and fill it with nothing. A lot of the pages out there are just about being annoying to read. You have to click on the link and it takes you away from the page you were actually reading to get to the page you were waiting for.
I know what people mean when they say there are no purpose other than being annoying. The purpose of a link is to put you into a page.
